RYA Sail Cruising Courses With Ambition Sailing
Whether you are a first-timer wanting to enjoy time on the water and be a useful crew member, or a more experienced skipper wanting to expand your sailing skills and increase your confidence, there is an RYA training course for you.
Learn to sail or further develop your skills so that you can enjoy sailing in beautiful locations, yacht racing, or even selling up, living aboard and sailing away!
Here is are the aims of the RYA sailing courses at each level, building towards you skippering your yacht

Ambition Sailing RYA sailing courses are run in The Solent, from Southampton, and on successful completion all clients will receive the RYA Course Completion Certificate.
Our yachts are located at Shamrock Quay Marina, Southampton, which is well served by regular transport links. It is a modern marina with bars, cafes and shops, good car parking and shower facilities. Shamrock Quay is also a working boat yard and therefore a great place to learn and ‘be amongst boats’!
The yachts are fitted out to a high specification including the personal safety, navigation and deck equipment necessary to complete all aspects of the syllabus. This includes luxuries not often found on sailing training vessels including refrigerated cool box, showers, 240v shore supply and cabin heating. All our yachts sleep five people comfortably in double and single berths.
The courses generally run with a low student to instructor ratio (4:1).
You can choose weekend or weekday course formats to best fit in with your other commitments and clients booking as groups of four or five can choose suitable dates subject to yacht and instructor availability.
