Intensive Boat Handling Under Sail & Power

An intensive 2 day course to refine your mooring, marina manoeuvring and reversing skills. This training course will improve your techniques for mooring, anchoring and picking up buoys under sail.

Understanding how to choose appropriate sails or how to use the throttle and helm to manoeuvre in confined spaces in varying combinations of wind and tide are essential skills not just for successful Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster exams but also for confident sail cruising.

Be honest…..

Do you feel confident when manoeuvring a sailing yacht (under power or sail, ahead or astern) in a busy harbour?

Could you and your crew cope if your engine failed when performing close quarter manouvres?

How would you perform in an emergency situation such as manoverboard?

Are you comfortable picking up buoys or anchoring under sail or power?

These are skill areas where you never stop learning, even instructors! However there are basic skills and thought processes to learn that will boost your confidence and once learnt and understood, never forgotten. This will make your future sailing experience that much more enjoyable and relaxed.
