• The shorebased element is largely taught in a classroom environment during the first few days of the course. This includes evening work and local b&b accommodation is required. There is plenty available local and we can make recommendations.
  
  
• When students join the boat for 5 days of practical instruction, most of the shorebased syllabus will have been covered, providing a sound basis for the practical activities. For example, what better than learning how to calculate tidal heights and then doing it for real a day or so later?
  
  
• By the end of the 9 day course students will have completed the shorebased and practical syllabi and have undertaken all associated exams.
