Shorebased Courses
Our RYA shorebased courses are run over five days or two weekends in a variety of locations and formats to suit your own needs.
You will receive course notes and high quality training from dedicated, knowledgeable instructors in a modern training environment
Your involvement is maximised in all aspects of the course using open discussion, instructional video and computer simulations as key learning aids.
The following shorebased courses are offered

The perfect introduction or refresher for anyone going afloat as skipper or crew of a small craft such as RIB, sportsboat etc |
5 Days |
An essential minimum for skippers of yachts and motor cruisers - no previous knowledge required |
5 Days |
Recommended for offshore passages. The assumed level of knowledge before starting this course is the Day Skipper Shorebased syllabus |
5 Days |
Recommended for ocean passages. Assumes a working knowledge of all subjects covered in the other shorebased courses |
